HANGING ABOUT
Ah yes.  Women and cats.  An old alliance.  Well known and well reported.  Not completely understood.  Partial theories exist.  “For I will consider my cat Jeoffry.”  We don’t know.  That’s the joy of it - stumbling into something so familiar and at the same time something not fully understood.  A moment of connection between human and animal, a moment of quiet intertwined introspection and companionship (but thankfully saved from drama by cat silliness).  A transient portrait rising out of a dark cobalt blue while the velvety textures of gouache reflect comfort and softness.  Watercolour fur. “For every house is incomplete without him and a blessing is lacking in the spirit”. Embraced by a moment of happy tranquility.  Before serious comes stomping in with its big boots.
