Nicola began Last Winter Ceramics in 2018 producing slip cast ceramic homeware, as her home studio has grown she has recently been producing some wheel thrown pieces alongside this.

 

Taking inspiration from nature she creates simply decorated and illustrated pieces, using a variety of decorating techniques including painting with underglaze and a slip trailer, sgraffito and the use of glazes.   Nicola enjoys the many processes which go into each piece and the anticipation of opening up the kiln.
