Elizabeth Kemp’s most recent work is a series of abstract relief painted canvases. The work reflects and further explores historical, social and cultural themes based on her background in fine art.

Kemp takes inspiration from reclaimed materials such as objects and images. She explores their previous application or meaning in a prior context and brings them into new and thought-provoking settings with her work.

In addition to studio-based work, Kemp has worked for over 40 years as an artist in participatory settings both here and in other countries. She teaches art - principally drawing - and has developed a range of training workshops and programmes for the development of art skills, which offer ways into enjoying and using visual art for personal and social growth.
