Things I found beach combing   £350
 
Like in a child’s picture book this painting sets out a number of random objects together with their names, all found while beach combing.  The sea and sky stretch across the top of the horizon and just below a wooden groyne holds back the sand.  At the same time this barrier seems to offer a kind of protection to the memories these items hold, both ancient and contemporary, durable and fragile, familiar and strange.  We are in the very centre of a wonderful world.
